Mommy would say......

Ethan was playing a "sound effect" game on the computer today, and the object of the game is to scroll over different scernios and guess what the sound would be. One scenerio was Mommy in the kitchen and she dropped a glass. As Ethan scrolls over the picture, I'm thinking "Oh, he will guess the sound of glass breaking."
SO NOT what Ethan guesses....he guesses "Damnit!" as the sound Mommy would say if she dropped a glass. I guess I need to keep an eye out for who is listening to me! Yikes!

We're having TWINS!!!!

HaHa! Gotcha! Every evening when we sit down for dinner, I brace myself for the conversation my kids have between themselves. Tonight was no exception....this one made me laugh out loud.

Ethan: "I looooove the color purple."

Adelle: "Purple is for girls."

Myself: "No, Daddy's favorite color is purple." (I'm sure he is glad you all know that now.)

Ethan: "Awesome. Me and Daddy are TWINS!"

Adelle: "Nooooo....You are not twins...Daddy has a BIG NOSE, and you have a BIG HEAD!"

Ethan: "Yes we are twins, Mommy and Daddy call me "Little Mark" all the time."

Adelle: "Fine, if you are Daddy, tell me to go to my room, or watch football, or workout, or wrestle with me, or make SALSA!"

Ethan: "I'm not that kind of Daddy, I'm just the part of Daddy who likes purple."

Yes you are, Ethan.

The man of the house....

Before this blog, I should preface by saying that in our house we have an imaginary bear. Sometimes we play "hide from the bear"; the kids hide, I sneak up, growl ferociously, and scare the living daylights out of them. I know....this is probably going to cost them hundreds in psychotherapy later in life, but it's family fun. Well today, we were playing "HFTB" and I was "hiding" under-covers with the boys. I decided to kick it up a notch and said to Ethan, "What if I went out, and the bear ate me and sissy (who was refusing to play because Jonas was on), WHAT would you do?" Without missing a beat he says, "Easy day Mom, I would get Dad's sword and my suction cups and climb up the wall and ninja that bear sushi style." We can all sleep safely knowing we are well protected from imaginary wild animals.

What do you do if....

your child is smarter than you? Tonight while making dinner, the kids were coloring. Max took one of Adelle's drawings and crumpled it up. Rightfully so, she was mad. However, she decided to go one step farther and called him a jerk. I first made Max apologize, and he did. I then told her it was her turn and she protested. I said "What if when you were two and did something wrong, I called you a name?" She pondered this for a moment and said "Actually Mom, you know better, and me calling Max names is part of my learning process as a kid." "Hmmmmmmmmm" is all I could say.
